Why is my account being transferred to GoldStar Trust?
Capital One Financial is resigning as custodian of your retirement account and has made arrangements for GoldStar Trust to serve as the successor custodian of your account as of the date provided in the resignation letter you received from Capital One Financial.
How will my account balance be invested?
Upon transfer of your account to GoldStar Trust, the funds in your account will initially be invested in an FDIC-insured, interest-bearing, demand account.
What additional investment options are available?
GoldStar Trust strives to provide you access to products and services to help you meet your investment goals. In addition to the FDIC-insured, interest-bearing demand account, we offer a broad array of investment options including stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and alternative investments. At this time, we do not offer access to a CD product.
How do I access my account?
Accounts can be accessed online through the GoldStar Trust account portal. To establish online access, you will need the last four digits of your SSN, Date of Birth, and email used to establish the account. The portal can be accessed by clicking “Login” then “New User? Register” on our website located at www.goldstartrust.com/capitalone
Will my recurring contributions/distributions continue?
Any recurring transactions that you have set up with Capital One will not transfer over to GoldStar Trust.
To continue recurring distributions you are receiving from your retirement account, including those set up with respect to Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), please download and submit the Recurring IRA Distribution Request to GoldStar Trust.
To continue recurring contributions to your IRA, please download and submit the Bank Draft Request Form to GoldStar Trust.
Will my beneficiaries transfer over?
Any beneficiaries you have designated on your account with Capital One will transfer over to GoldStar Trust.
Will I receive a final statement from Capital One?
Yes, you will receive a final account statement from Capital One reflecting activity in your retirement account for the portion of 2022 that your IRA was held there.
In addition, GoldStar Trust will provide quarterly statements from the date your retirement account was transitioned to GoldStar Trust.
